Girly penguin cupcake

Here’s an easy peasy cupcake topper to make (bottom left) and it looks so cute when on a cupcake 🙂

Things you’ll need:

  • Rolling pin
  • Fondant or gumpaste in white, black, orange, and pink
  • Circle cutters
  • Heart cutters
  • Pink edible dust
  • Water
  • Paintbrush
  • Sharp knife or fondant cutting tool

To form the bow, shape 2 triangular type shapes with your hand, squish them down a little and add a tiny ball to the middle. Make indentation likes in the triangles using your knife, and glue everything together with a small painbrush and some water.
Next, use round cookies cutters (or a glass or anything else you can find that’s round) to cut 1 larger circle which will be the body, and 2 small ones. Pinch together one side of both circles; they will become the wings.
Use your heart cutters to cut out 1 larger heart that fits onto the larger black circle, and 3 tiny orange hearts. Again use your knife to make indentations in two of the hearts; they will becme the feet.
Attach all the pieces to the large black disc. Roll 2 tiny black balls of fondant, and paste them onto the penguin as eyes. Optional – add a even smaller white dot in each eye, and paint on some eyelashes with edible paint or draw them on with an edible marker.
Using a dry paintbrush, apply a little bit of the pink edible powder to it’s cheeks, and voila, you’re done!
You can make them well in advance, and store them in a cool, dry place untill you need them ♡
